Wow what a week!!!!!
We got a self referral from salt lake, it is this lady who self refered her self through the Internet on a church website, so we called her and she said she really wants to learn why Mormons are such good people and so happy, she really wants to learn more! We set an appointment for Tuesday and anxiously waited until we could meet her. When we met her we talked and she is actually born in Brazil and moved when she was 11, she met the missionaries years ago with her mum but it never went any where cause they lost contact, she said she really has something missing in her life, and she feels lonely and lost, her boss is mormon and several other people in her company are mormon, she has seen how amazing these people are and happy and now she really wants to learn why. When we started to teach her she was just amazed she loved everything! When we were getting to the end of the lesson we committed her to pray to know if this church is true and if what we were teaching is true, straight away she looks at us a bit funny and says"again? You want me to ask again? I already know it's true! I can feel it in my heart, I know everything you have taught me is true! She then started to tell us about some of the experiences she had as she was researching the church and through out her life, she said that" she had an incredibly exciting overwhelming feeling overcome her when she was researching the mormon church and learning about the church" and she could also feel it when we were teaching her. She also told us heaps of ways how she has felt god directing her towards the mormon church through out her whole life back to when she was a child, it was amazing that she could recognize the hand of God in her life, she really wants to learn more and start meeting regularly. She is amazing! During the entire lesson and for hours later I felt like doing a backflip! Unfortunately I can't do one so lucky I didn't or I would probably be coming home with a neck brace... I love miracles!!!!! They are everywhere!!!
We were on splits and we decided to go do a mitsukataikai, which is where you go to the train station and hand out flyers for Eikaiwa, while doing this I stopped this guy and we started talking about Eikaiwa and he said he used to go about a year ago, I then asked if he ever taked about church stuff with the missionaries he said he had a little bit, so I invited him to hear the lessons promising him that if he does hear the lessons 1 or 2 times he will want to learn more and find what is missing in his life, it was amazingm we exchanged emails and set an appointment!!! He didn't want to give me his phone number cause the missionaries used to call him nonstop trying to get an appointment later via email.
We found this amazing person called Tatsuya san. On Thursday we had splits with the district leader, so elder Han came herewith me and just as we were at the train station, we said bye to our companions for the day, I turned around and there was this guy looking at me from about a meter or so away and I was like wow! He is looking at me, (in japan people don't look at you especially if your white they like to pretend you don't exist a lot of the time) so I say hi and start talking to me, he try's to talk English to me even though I talked to him in perfect Japanese, then I reply in Japanese and he then tries to talk in English! Hahha I couldn't understand what he was saying in English so eventually I got him to talk Japanese and we talked about what we do as missionaries and how we teach people how to improve their life through Jesus Christ and so then thinking he didn't really have much interest I just straight out asked do you have interest in that sort of stuff, and he was like yeah I have intrest! I was like um wow okay, so we shared a quick message about God and exchanged numbers and went our ways.
The next day we met up done a church tour, he liked it, we taught about Prayer and then asked him if he wanted to pray and he was a little bit half half sort of torn. We asked a couple of questions and found out his dad is buddist like 99% of japanese and he thought he would be betraying his dad if he prayed so we taught about who God is and he loved it and prayed with out any pushing, he just wanted to cause he really understood the relationship between him and God. We made an appointment for the next day and then went our ways. The next day we taught about the restoration, he loved it and told us how amazing he felt inside, we were able to testify that it was the spirit and he really wants it more! He says he believes what we are teaching is true, he is incredible! So we set a baptismal date, we suggested the 22nd or 29th and asked him to pick any date at all and he said 22nd. So hopefully he can be prepared by then. He also came to church! We found him and we met him the next 2 days then he cam to church, we even met him today as well! He has lots of time which is awesome! (Normally japanese people have no time! If they do they get another job or something! It's crazy they work themselves into the ground!
I will be so sad if I leave Maebashi at transfers, I don't think I will because my companion has been here for 5 transfers so I think he will go and I will stay. Right now Maebashi is just on fire!!!! We have 4 baptismal dates set! Which are all pretty solid! We have so many investigators and are teaching an average of 23 lessons a week for the last 3 weeks, I so want to be here next transfer when most of these baptismal dates are meant to go through!
All of our other investigators are slowly moving along, Sakamoto managed to not smoke for 2 days and Kazuki for 5! They both ended up smoking one or 2 again but they are making amazing progress, once they stop smoking they will be ready for baptism and Kazuki wants me to baptise him, actually when we asked him who he wanted to do everything it was king, king, king, king hahaha I was like hmmm it might be good to get other people to do some stuff hahahah so he will have other people do some stuff.
I got given a talk for sacrament meeting in a week or 2... I think I'll just give it in English ;) hahaha not really but yeah that will be fun.
So on Sunday night it was raining heaps!!! We were riding back to our apartment and this car pulled out of a drive way right in front of me like less than a few meters! I had no time to stop the path was paved so it's super slippery surface and my companion was right next to me, I straight away slam my breaks on and skid my bike side ways (sort of like I used to do when I was riding my bike off road and I wanted to do a "broady" which is where you lock il your back wheel and skid sideways) I stay sliding sideways just about to hit the car and I let my break go my bike straightens up and I miss the car by less than a centremeter and that's not even exaggerated! I actually still don't know how I managed to get around the car! I know it wasn't something I done on my own! There was help of angels there! I mean I'm pretty good on a bike but there's no physical way that I should of got around that! I should of hit that car face first or side on! It was a miricale!
It was a great week! Learnt lots and made lots of progress!!!
Hope you all had an amazing week. Sorry this letter was a bit later than the normal ones for all those that have emailed me saying why didn't you send me an email ahahaha.
