| So what a big week!!!! Last week we had Elder Richard G Scott come give a talk for our Tuesday night devotional and this week we had Elder Russel M Ballard! Back to back Apostles! Before I got to the MTC they hadn't had an Apostle for over 14 weeks! So that was definitely a highlight of the week! But this was no ordinary week! We all got to watch the live re dedication of the Oregan temple! That was awesome, the spirit was felt so strongly by everyone! It was an awesome experience having 2000 missionaries in one building doing the hosanna cheer and singing the spirit of God (one of my most favorite hymns),Thomas S Monson also gave a pretty cool talk during the dedication, and as usual makes every one laugh and feel the spirit at the same time. On Sunday it was announced that the elders in the MTC will be singing in the priesthood session of general conference!!!!! I have been selected to sing in the choir!!!!! So I'm gonna get to sit behind the apostles and first presidency and the prophet! I'll be able to see them all in person!!! That is gonna be soooo amazing, I really cant wait for that! And they are doing something very special that they have never done before in general conference before apparently! we are singing a medaly of heaps of primary songs, primary songs about missionary work! It's gonna be so fun and exciting!!! We have to practice every day starting tomorrow and on some days twice a day! So for all of you that said i cant sing, you were wrong hahaha..... Who am I kidding I can't sing hahaha. So excited about that as you can see! The language is getting there slowly, I'm getting better at forming sentences and I'm slowly increasing my vocabulary. We played this game yesterday me and my companion, we weren't allowed to speak any English and every time you said even 1 word in English you would get a mark against your name! I only ended up with 1 mark and he ended up with 4 so I won!!!! The loser got the back of his calf muscles whipped with licorice strips hahahaha my companion is walking around with long bruises on his leg hahaha. The food at the MTC is not getting any better..... my waste line is expanding like a balloon hahaha (jokes) but I only have another 6-7 weeks left with this food. I don't actually know how much longer I have left cause all the days are blending. In one of our lessons, my companion got our investigator to read moroni 10:3-5 but accidentally got him to read out Ether 10:3-5..... it was hilarious cause he asked us a question about the Scripture we had him read and was like how is this relevant to me hahahaha, then I realized he gave him the wrong scripture... that's the second time he has done that now..... It just doesn't get less funny haha So i have an email from my first zone leaders in the MTC who are now out serving in Japan Tokyo Mission and apparently it is ridiculously hot and the hills are killer! Also the humidity is nearly 100% everyday hahahaha yay for me... but I'm still so keen to get out there and run around talking to every person I see even though I wont be able to speak or understand much hahaha. I just wanna talk to everyone I see, although in such a big city if I done that I would never make it to the shops hahaha!! I am doing well and can't wait to get out and start the work in Japan! Lots of love, Elder King |

Heyy y'all ;)
For our tuesday night devotional we had Richard G Scott speak to us, one of the 12 apostles. It was amazing!!! He spoke on prayer and is such an amazing humble person! This week has had its ups and downs it as always does. Learning the language comes fast some days then really slow others. The key is to set realistic goals that stretch you but they must be realistic otherwise you will just get discouraged! Goal setting is so important without it there's no way i could learn this language this quick. The food is still terrible.....hahaha I sung in the choir for the Tuesday night devotional when Richard G Scott was here so that was awesome!!! We sung "Be Still My Soul" such a awesome song!!! In one of our lessons my companion told our investigator that 'he is Gods Father' instead of 'God is my Heavenly Father!' oh and instead of saying Nephi left Jerusalem and went into the wilderness, my companion said "Nephi left Jerusalem and went into a grove of trees." I just cracked up instantly and our fake investigator was trying not to laugh. hahaha By the time it gets to about 8 o'clock everyone's brains are fried so we end up doing the stupidest thing, for example the other day we figured out how to sing heads shoulders knees and toes. Tuesdays and Sundays are the best days cause there is way more English stuff... Every Sunday we have to prepare a talk in nihongo (Japanese) and people will be randomly selected to give thier taks... It's like a Russian Roulette you can just see everyone quivering with fear hahaha. Love Elder King
