This week was weird.... Not a normal missionary week. Not much dendo time. Cause of New Years. But it was still a good week. To be honest any week with white stuff and free sushi is a good week hahaha.(I'm liking sushi a lot more)
Monday was p day, We went to this cool place to eat with a less activeEach table has a Barbie on in the middle of it and you buy everything raw and cook it yourself! It was so cool. We had these delicious weird lettuce pancake things, I can't remember what they were called but they were so delicious!
Tuesday we had splits. I went on splits with elder ricks. We went to tateyama but couldn't meet with takashi cause he had a family thing on, so we just met with the takanashi's who are recent converts :) the lesson went great :) we really didn't do much on this day. Well we done a lot but didn't get much results unfortunately.
Wednesday we had the annual apartment deep clean day. Because it is New Year's Eve we weren't allowed to go out and dendo so we just stayed inside and had a whole day to clean!!! We cleaned every inch of the apartment including walls and ceiling! We even pulled the bath out and cleaned around that! Then me and elder Kondo decided to go out for dinner for our last meal of the year so we went to a place called sukia which has pretty awesome japanese food. so that was that day gone. So far not much of an effective dendo week
Thursday was New Years so because it is such a big holiday in Japan we couldn't do any finding or anything. In the morning we met up with a less active and went to the Kisarazu towers and watched the first sunrise of the year. It was freezing!!!! I swear I was gonna freeze to death. But I'm so glad it was cold! Because I didn't get a white Christmas but I got a white New Year's Day!!!!!!! It snowed in Kisarazu and tateyama area for the first Time in 10 years It was so cool we were getting on our bikes to ride to tateyama and there was lots of small white stuff floating around in the air but it didn't look like snow to me, it's not what I expected it to look like but my companion shouted "woah! Yuki!!!" Which is japanese for snow! I was like no way! Then we started riding to the station and it got slightly heavier then when we were on the train it started snowing properly how I thaught snow looked!!! It was so cool! It was my first time seeing snow falling. All the way to tateyama it snowed and then when kept snowing for about 5 hours!!!! Best New Years ever!!!!!!
Well the reason we were going to tateyama was to meet up with 2 family's that life there and go to sushiro to surprise takashi at his work :) we ate so much!!! I hade like 17 plates :0 it was so delicious!!! And I was okay with eating so much cause I was paying for it but then kauminami Kyodai paid for it!!!! He is so nice!!!! Last week he actually got called to be the second councilor in the branch presidency. He is few asking amazing! He has the cutest kids as well!
After sushiro we get an email from the APs saying that we can catch the train tonight to the mission conference so that we don't have to get up at 4:30 to get there on time! We were the furthest missionaries from the conference and so that was so nice that we could travel there and stay at another elders apartment the night. We ended up getting to the apartment at 9:15 at night. Going to thier apartment made me so great fun for my apartment our apartment is probably the best in the mission!
Friday we had a big mission conference. And it was my birthday. The mission conference was really good it reviewed the last year and we set goals for the New Year and found out what our mission president wants us to focus on for the year. Our mission president and his wife are soooo good sucks that they only have like 8 months left! They are amazing! Luckily budge Shimae forgot it was my birthday so I didn't have to get up and have 200 missionaries sing me happy birthday. She forgot because she normally rings them the day after thier birthday and sings them happy birthday cause obviously most of the missionaries are Americans and Americans think that America is the centre of the universe so they celebrate thier birthday American time so thier birthdays start half way through the day and finish half way through the next day.....
For my birthday I got a new beanie and neck warmer from iwasaki shimae, a cool photo frame from Ozawa san, tsuboi kyodai brought me an amazing cake! sensui Shimai made me an awesome Japanese dinner, Mmmmm it was so delicious it had rice cakes in it which is pounded rice that is pounded into this thick loaf of dough almost then boiled! It's so delicious. Then you put it in a watery broth thing mmm It was good.
Saturday we had to do weekly planning cause we hadn't done it yet. So again not a dendo day again.... But we talked to a member during planning and she told us that yesterday she was talking with one of the sisters male investigators who hadn't really progressed for like 6 or so months. And apparently he has a desire to change and be a better person and wants to get baptised so the sisters have given him to us to teach so hopefully that goes well :) that night we had katanoyubei. (Family night) at the chapel and he was the only one that came which is super weird cause usually there is at least 12 or more people! But only he came so we showed a video which he really loved and then talked about how to become a better person! He has changed so much just since I have been here. He now has a desire to learn and change and you can really see it in his eyes! It's great I can't wait to start teaching him and helping him more!
Sunday no one could come to church except for noboyuki who is Down syndrome and has come for the last 30 Sunday's in a row All of our investigators either had work, were out of town or live an hour away and say they can't come this week cause they don't have the money for the train! :( we went finding for about 5 hours on Sunday and didn't find anyone which kind of sucked. I knocked on one door and in japanese In this lady shouts out "who is it?" I reply in japanese"church missionaries" she then shouts in Japanese "I don't know what that is" she then opens the door and says"sorry I don't speak japanese" we notice she is Philippino so I say do you speak English she says of course! I reply "I don't speak japanese either!" We quickly talk for a second but she was too busy so we just gave her a church flyer. That was my second run in with a person that speaks English at a door it's always so awkward cause I'm not used to speaking English when dendoing.
Well that is the weekly report (if I could remember the words to the weekly report song from the lion king I would put it here but I don't!) I hope you all had an awesome New Years. For anyone that went to the ysa convention I want to hear all about it. I miss the sun! A hot day right now in Japan is 10 degrees! It's abseoulutely freezing! And did I mention it snowed!!!! Yay!!!! :D wooohhoooooo. That was so freaking amazing. I would love to hear from all of you :)
Miss all of you and miss real weather!
Love from the coolest missionary ever ;) (and the humblest)
