Well I don't know where to start or what to email this week. Hmmm..... I think I'm just going to randomly blabber, about random stuff with no sequential order.
So Nsan the lady we housed into like maybe 2 weeks ago or something, well she came to general conference, and an even bigger miricale, a less active Philippino lady that the other elders have been working with came back for the first time on Sunday as well and also the only other Philippino lady in our ward who comes on and off came as well, so that was an amazing miracle for her to come on the da that all the other Philippino people came! She enjoyed it the members dome a pretty good job at befriending her as well and so hopefully she comes next week as well, it was her first time in like 12 years!!!! So exciting (photo probably attached)
On Saturday we watched 3 sessions of conference with only a 15 minute break in between the sessions, which was barely enough to go to the toilet, change the disc and stretch a tiny bit. But it was so good, it was an overload of information, but now I have no excuse to not have something yo try and improve. There were so many great talks given this weekend!!!!! I could sit here and write out bits I liked but I'm going to refrain from doing that for now because if I did I would never end, I would talk for longer than all of the conference sessions put together, but on the other hand i would love to here from everyone back home or wherever my email ends up to tell me your favorite parts. And I don't have that sort of time hahaha.
One day I was walking past a group of guys and so I said hey man! How are you and he thought I said ikeme how are you. Ikeme means handsome..... So there are now 3 people walking around Maebashi thinking I'm gay... Hahah language barrier problems hahahah.
So this week we had zone conference and one of the sisters came to me and showed me this email from her friend who served in Maebashi, 20 years ago and baptized a family called the Sfamily and he wanted to know if they were still active and if they weren't to go visit them, so here are some of the things that made this a miricale, she told us on Thursday and we had planned to go out with bishop and visit some less actives but we weren't sure who, so we decided on this Sfamily. On the way there bishop took several wrong turns which made us 30 minutes later than what we should of been. (He compared his driving to the church it doesn't matter how many mistakes you make no matter how far you go God has a way for you to get back!) then we got to the house and the gps started to stuff up and start telling us we were somewhere we weren't so we drove around for like 10 minutes trying to find the house, then completely randomly the gps fixed itself and it took us 2 seconds to find the house. We pulled up out the front and just as we done that, this car pulled in the driveway! That guy was the son of the guy who the elder had baptized, no one else was home and if we were 1 minute earlier we would of arrived and left with no success as his parents were in Fiji, he is now 24 and was only 5 years old when his dad was baptized, he still remembers this elder from when he was 5 years old and we talked for ages in the rain, then exchanged phone numbers to meet up again later. If bishop didn't take attest 15 wrong turns or the gps didn't stuff up or if we hadn't already planned the trip it would of never happened and we would of never met and because he lives a 45 minute drive away up a big hill we probably would of never gone, crazy right? There ain't no tipping like the lords timing!
After zone meeting. A group of elders and sister went to get indocurry while we were there me and the owner who are very well acquainted started a bet I said I could eat 4 nan and he said no way you can't eat even 3 of my nan so I said fine I'll eat 5, we then start to trash talk adachi there a little bit, mainly him saying no you can't do it, my nan is too big, fou will hurt yourself, we come up with this bet that for every nan less than 5 I pay an extra $2.50 then if I eat all of it he takes the lessons and I get half price, he comes out with the nan and I have been to this place like 15 times on my mission to eat and these nan were massive!!! They were more than double the size!!!! So I just took it in my stride and went hard. He kept trash talking the whole time it was non stop, it was halarious everyone was just in fits! As I am just finishing my 3rd one he says can I tell you something, you have already eaten 6 nan, I put 2 nan In one nan, there is no way you can eat 10 nan you have already eaten 6 but you have only eaten 3 hahaha I will win. So the outcome of the story is I got my meal for normal price and we have a lesson set up for later this week, and that is how you find a new investigator!!!! Hahaha
This week we had a big eikaiwa which went really well, not as well as we hoped, probably because it snowed on that day and Japanese people don't like going out in the snow, but we have broken the record for our wards eikaiwa we had 49 people, we invited members so they can make friends with our investigators, and got our eikaiwa students to invite all their friends. We had food and games and it went really well, we have been trying to work with the members as much as we can and it has really helped build the dendo Fire, the bishop and ward mission leader and some other members are way pumped up about missionary work right now, it's so much more fun and effective when the ward is involved. We have set up a lot of new activities to get members involved and more pumped for dendo.
Well that's all I have time for this week because my emailing time got cut short. Sorry, bye see you next week.
Love elder King.
