Our hours and hours of finding time is finally paying off :D for the last 2 or 3 weeks or so we have spent countless hours housing, Streeting, mitsukataikai and we're finally reaping the reward. This week especially the second half of the week has been just filled with miricales! We went Streeting and the very first person we talked to just stopped and dropped his plans to talk to us. He was going to visit his daughter but thaught talking to us was more important. We talked for about an hour he believes there is a god but doesn't have any religion which is kinda cool sort of like a blank canvas! He used to be the first mate on a ship, he says that is the reason he is so halarious! He knows a tiny bit of English and honestly his English is the funniest English I have heard! We exchanged phone numbers and went our ways after the funniest hour of finding ever!
Tuesday we went to tateyama and done some finding. Went finding for nearly 5 hours and not one person talked to us for longer than 5 minutes! Except for a little cat that we found who was tied up. We taught the first lesson to the cat as a practice lesson she agreed to be baptised, we said "meow if you want to get baptised on Sunday" the cat meowed hahah we then then just as we were finished saw a high school kid so I shouted out to him "hello how are you!" He replied in some broken English we then talked to him taught most of the first lesson and gave him a Book of Mormon. It turns out he is one of Takashi's (our other investigator) friends we gave him our number but didn't get his. So we are now trying to get takashi to set up an appointment for us hahaha.
We then went to Eikaiwa and only umetsu shimae showed up so she was like"all good lets just do a mogi lesson" so that was really cool :D she is a way solid member!!!
We also found another guy who knew missionaries like a year or so ago. He instantly thaught we were the same missionaries he knew and asked us if we remembered him. We were sooo confused until he said we met a year ago. He was a little bit busy so we set an appointment for the next day.
The next day We were went to meet with him at the eki, he was there but only had like 5 minutes so we shared a short message with him taught him how to pray then had a short pray for him where we prayed for him to have a safe travel then comitted him to pray today before he goes to bed. So it wasn't the appointment we were hoping for but we decided it would be effective to do a 30 minute mitsukataikai (handing out flyers) seeing we had Eikaiwa (English class) that night. One of the Eikaiwa students started talking to me during the mitsukataikai and we had an awesome lesson and he prayed at the end of it! It was the first time he had prayed! Then while I was teaching that lesson elder Kondo was still doing mitsukataikai and he found 2 potential investigators and set an appointment with one of them! Unfortunately the appointment he set will be during the time I am on splits. So I won't be able to meet him.
The first guy we streeted into first (and talked to for an hour) we messaged him and he called us and wants to meet up so we have an appointment for Tuesday! He is so cool!!! He wants to play tennis with us and talk about our beliefs!!!! Can't wait for that!
This week we had splits with the zone leaders! I stayed in Kisarazu with elder McKnight! Which was really cool! Cause he used to serve in Kisarazu area when he was transfer 4 so we spent the day contacting and visiting old investigators we met with an old investigator who is Jamaican and is fluent in English! He was really cool but we don't think there is a lot of desire there. We also met a guy called Kenji who was so happy to see us and he says he wants to come to all of our activities and have fun and learn English. He says he has interest in our church but it's not his main focus right now. He used to have a baptismal date so we want to try and rebuild his desire.
Last Saturday mizuno kyodai passed away. He has had Parkinson's Desiese for over 10 years. He and his wife were the glue that held our branch together. He traveled 2.5 hours just to get to church every Sunday. He and his wife were the missionary force in tateyama! He was the sweetest old man! He had a heart of gold. Let's just say if he doesn't go to the celestial kingdom no one is. So this Sunday this white family turned up to our Ward and we were a little bit confused then the guy started speaking and I instantly picked the Australian accent! Argh I miss Australian accents they are so good!!! So we get talking and it turns out he married the mizuno's youngest daughter and so they came cause they heard he was in hospital, they got here just in time he died 10 hours after they saw him.(cancer- but they only found out he had it at Christmas!!!!) so sad :( . But yeah it turns out they are from Sydney and are in the same Ward that elder Evans is serving in now!!! Crazy!!! This world is way too small!!! How crazy is that, I am serving in the ward where the parents of someone in the ward he is serving in live. The world is shrinking! The more people you know the smaller it gets.
I learnt how to say there are 2 chickens in my garden...."Niwa niwa niwa niwatori" Japanese is crazy!!!! -_- hahahaha
So an update on them people we found earlier this week..... The first one Sakamoto who we talked to for ages called us and said he can't meet and the other guy we set an appointment with bailed 5 minutes before our appointment -_- he said he got sick....and Sakamoto said his friend has bad knees and cause of that he has to stay with him when it's cold and so he can't meet.
Arrrggghhhh what the heck japanese people -_- oh well back to more finding next week....
Well we had another cool miricale... Takashi didn't come to church cause he was sick so after church we went with the people that normally pick him up for church to tateyama I knew which apartment he lived in but it was a massive apartment and I had no idea what one he lived in. There is well over a few hundred maybe 500 or so apartments in this building! It's massive! And it just so happens that as we were arriving at the apartment sister kaominami said he lives on the 10th floor doesn't he? I was like yeah I think so. (Really I had no idea!) so we went to the 10th floor and the very first door we knocked on was his!!!! What a miricale!!!! We than had an awesome lesson and I met his little brother :)
Today was temple p day!!! Always fun!!! Awesome being able to go to the temple on Pday once a transfer. Only down side is from where we live we need to get up at 4:30 to make it to the temple for the 8:00 session :/ but it's still awesome!
Well that sums up another week in Japan as a missionary!
それぐらいだと思います。
